The school is starting up again, and the next dates are not set yet.
Wizards Mystery School is not a new idea. It has run before, it worked, and it is coming back. What I do not have yet is a room and a set of dates, and I would rather tell you that plainly than invent a month to get you excited.
Put your name on the list and you hear the dates and the location the day they are settled, straight from me, before any of it goes on the website. Classes are small on purpose, so the list gets asked first. It costs nothing to join and commits you to nothing at all.
A Place To Learn Magic
Wizards Mystery School was founded by Wade Live to do one thing: give children somewhere to learn real magic, build self esteem, pick up a genuine skill, and grow into their own personality while they do it.
The course is two nights, back to back over a single weekend, running 90 minutes to two hours each time. Your child learns rope tricks, coin tricks, card tricks and more, and they learn how to actually perform them, which is the harder and more valuable half.
One weekend is deliberate. A family can say yes to two nights without rearranging a month, and night two lands while night one is still fresh, so nothing has to be relearned before the good part.
It is built for ages 5 and up, with no experience needed and nothing to buy. Your child leaves with a new skill set and with self confidence that outlasts the tricks by a very long way.
What Learning Magic Does To A Kid
Improved memory
Every trick has to be committed to memory, even the easy ones: the steps, the hand movements, and the talking that holds an audience and keeps the suspense up. Children exercise the part of the brain that handles memory every time they learn one, and the habit tends to show up in their schoolwork.
Better hands
A magician's hands say nearly as much as his voice. Dealing cards, palming a coin, moving props without being caught, all of it takes practice, and practice makes hands quick and sure. Hand and eye coordination develops, and so does the part of the brain that runs it.
A more active mind
Magic is good to watch, but it also creates questions, and everybody in the room wants the answer. Children already want to know how the world works, and it is a short walk from a trick to the ideas underneath it: physics, chemistry, and how likely something really is.
A powerful personality
Magicians are in demand for the amazement, but also because they carry energy and they are interesting to be around. A child who can do a few tricks well gains the confidence to speak in front of people. That is the part that lasts, and it is the whole reason this school exists.
Hand Picked, Every One
The lesson plan is Wade's, written and tested in real rooms full of real children. When the school grew beyond what one magician could cover, Wade chose the professionals who taught it elsewhere himself, one at a time, and did not hand the plan to anybody he had not seen work.
That standard has not moved. Whoever stands in front of your child has been picked by Wade personally, because the care and attention a kid gets on those two nights is the entire product.

You join for free. When the dates and the place are settled, I tell the list first. If it suits you, that is when you book and pay. If it does not, you say no and nothing is lost.

Takes about thirty seconds. You are telling me your child is interested, nothing more than that. No payment, no card, and I will not pass your details to anybody.

What Parents Ask
What will it cost?
$295 for the course. That covers both nights, everything your child uses, and there is nothing else to buy at any point. Nothing is due until there is a date in the diary and you have said yes to it. Joining the list itself is free, now and later.
Am I committing to anything?
Not a thing. When I have dates I will get in touch. If they do not suit, you say no and that is the end of it. No hard feelings, and you stay on the list for the next round unless you tell me otherwise.
When will I know the dates?
As soon as a room is booked. I am not going to guess at a month and get it wrong. If you have not heard anything in a few weeks and you are wondering, call me and I will tell you exactly where it stands.
What ages is it for? Is five really old enough?
Five and up, with no upper limit, so do not count a twelve or thirteen year old out. Older kids get more demanding material.
And yes, five is old enough, because the class is built for it. The little ones get tricks that work in small hands, and they get more help. A five year old will not be doing what a twelve year old is doing, and neither of them will feel it, because nobody is put in a position to fail in front of the room.
What will they actually learn?
Rope tricks, coin tricks, card tricks and more, plus the thing most magic books leave out, which is how to present it. The trick is half. Holding a room is the other half and it is the half that lasts.
No experience needed. Most arrive having never held a deck of cards.
Do I stay, or drop off?
Either one. Plenty of parents use the time to get something done, and plenty sit at the back with a book. Both are fine. With the younger ones, five and six year olds especially, a lot of parents stay for the first night and then decide.
What do they bring?
Themselves. No materials to buy and no homework you have to supervise. If they want to practise on you at the dinner table, that is the homework, and you should act surprised.
What if we miss a night?
Tell me as early as you can. Both nights fall on the same weekend, so there is no week in between to catch anybody up in. If you know in advance, I will move your child to the next round rather than let them turn up to night two lost. If something happens on the day, call me and we will sort it out between us.
My child is shy
Good. Those are the ones this is really for. Nobody gets dragged to the front on the first night. It builds slowly, and the quiet ones are very often the ones who do not want to sit back down by the end of night two.
Paperwork and clearances
Any venue hosting a children's program asks for documentation first. Whatever is required, insurance, background clearance, references, is supplied and on file before the first class. If you would like to see it yourself, just ask and I will send it over.
Can I put two children down?
Yes. Fill the form in once for each child so I have both names and ages, and mention in the box that they are siblings.
