Three weekends. Two hours a session, Saturday and Sunday. Twelve kids, and not a thirteenth.
Your child learns real magic from a working professional, gets a prop kit of their own to keep, and then on the final night stands up in front of the room and performs for you.
That last night is the whole point. Everything in the six sessions is built to get them there.
What They Actually Learn
Nobody signs their kid up for card tricks. Here is what six weeks of magic really does, and why it sticks long after the tricks are put away.
By the last night, your child has
- Performed in front of a room of adults, on purpose, six times
- Been the one creating the wonder instead of receiving it
- Learned that being bad at something first is simply how it works
- Practised imagining what another person is thinking and seeing
- Been trusted with a real secret, and kept it
- Had something go wrong in front of people, and carried on anyway
- Written and delivered a two minute routine from memory
- Found something to be good at that has nothing to do with being the biggest, fastest or most popular kid in the room
A child who can hold a room at ten years old is not frightened of a class presentation at fourteen or an interview at twenty two. That is what you are really enrolling them in.
How It Runs
Weekend one, finding your hands

- Writing your own patter, out loud, in your own words
Weekend three, the show
- Rehearsal, running order and stage nerves
- The showcase, performed live for family and friends
Ages 8 to 12. No experience needed, and no equipment to buy. Everything your child needs is in the kit they take home on night one.
Your Kid, Onstage, For Real
Classes are capped at twelve students. That is the real limit of a library program room, not a sales line.
- Twelve hours of instruction with a working professional magician

The class is designed to run in a library program room across Central New York, so when it comes to your town it is a short drive to a familiar building.
Full payment holds the seat. Refundable up to two weeks before the first session.

This program is being built now, and the first classes are being planned for libraries around Central New York. No dates are set yet. Put your name down and you will hear the moment one opens near you, before seats go on general sale. Classes are capped at twelve, so the list goes first.

What Parents Ask
Does my child need any experience?
None at all. Most arrive having never held a deck. The first session is built so that every kid performs something successfully before they go home.
What ages is this for?
Eight to twelve. Younger than eight and the hands are not quite ready for the moves. Older than twelve and they will want a different class, which is coming.
Do I need to buy anything?
No. The prop kit and workbook are included in the $450 and handed out on the first night. Your child keeps everything.
What if we miss a session?
Every class has a make-up date built into the schedule, which matters in an upstate winter. If your child misses a night, they are caught up before the next one.
Does the showcase really happen?
Yes, and it is the reason the class exists. On the final night, family and friends fill the program room and every student performs. Bring a camera.
